Mission
The Mission Inn Foundation was incorporated in 1976 to assist in the preservation and restoration of the Mission Inn, and originally, to manage the hotel during ownership by the City of Riverside's Redevelopment Agency. The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa is now privately owned by Duane and Kelly Roberts, and the Foundation has a unique role of operating a non-profit museum within a for-profit hotel. The Mission Inn Museum, operated by the Mission Inn Foundation, was opened in 1993, simultaneous with the reopening of the Mission Inn after seven years of extensive renovations. In addition to the museum, the Mission Inn Foundation interprets the history and significance of the Mission Inn through daily hotel tours, monthly public programs and special events, the Hands On History educational initiative, and the continued stewardship of the hotel's expansive art, artifact, and archival collections.

  • Very small setting with few artifacts but you can't go wrong seeing original pieces of history. The staff was amazing. They gave us a great welcome and were full of information. They were great with my 6 year old.
  • Very informative, I had always gone by rumors when describing The Mission Inn to others. Now I can inform them on the truth. I recommend it to those who love history like myself. Or if you want to seek more information on your favorite place to visit.
  • “A must see for Christmas ” My first time here and as a born New Yorker this place was truly amazing. Great for family and kid friendly. Anyone would be happy to see the inn and it's beautiful set up
  • This was a great tour with ONE EXCEPTION... It's lame you can't take pictures. You've paid to see parts of the Mission Inn so you should be able to take a photograph. Otherwise it's a great tour. Wear comfortable shoes, you will do some walking. The docents are very knowledgeable and you'll learn quite a bit.
  • Beautiful landmark. Take the tour, it's great.
