  • What a great course! A golf course with high level of a beautiful décor. A blameless and well-oiled organization. Not to be missed

  • As a neighbor ( Rio Verde )and a lot owner I have watched Tonto Verde since its founding. They have an excellent pair of golf courses and an outstanding clubhouse food and beverage operation. It also,...  more »

  • Played the Peaks course yesterday Friday July 29th. The Ranch course is closed for bunker renovations. Go play there!! For summer, the course was in great shape. Greens were quick and very consistent but firm so hit short of hole or green and let ball feed. Fairways were moist and soft. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Couldn't have asked for a better experience!! Thank you Tonto Verde!!
  • One of the best places I've played
  • Tonto Verde is just 10 minutes east of North Scottsdale down Dynamite Road. They have two 18-hole golf courses that are in great condition - their maintenance crew takes their job seriously. Tee times are easy to access on their website. There is also a helpful video tour of both courses done by their Golf Pro that is worth watching on their website. Beverage cart that circles the courses, and a great Grill/Bar with an outdoor patio for lunch or dinner after golf. Their golf courses are open to the public.
  • Played the Ranch course, fairly demanding very well maintained. Could be a bit more descriptive regarding the holes layout especially the last two, very tough holes if one has not played them.
  • Great golf, more activities than time, spectacular views and great friends! That pretty well sums up our experience of living at Tonto Verde. My wife and I have now experienced living in Tonto Verde for just over a year, and would like to share our experience. As background, we are “snowbirds” as we are now spending our summers in Minnesota and wintering at Tonto Verde. We originally bought a townhouse at Troon North back in 2005, with the intention of finding an active adult retirement community to buy a home in upon retirement. Over the past several years we checked out several golf communities in the Phoenix area before buying at Tonto Verde. Our top priorities for a community to buy a home in were good golf with preferably more than one course to play, great views and a solid sense of community. Well we got all that and a lot more at Tonto Verde. The Peaks and the Ranch golf courses are challenging, playable and kept in great shape. Tonto Verde also has a beautiful 18 hole putting course which was attractive to us, but we had no idea of how much of a hit it would be with our many visitors. Golfers and non-golfers love to go out there and play. There are more golf and non-golf events to get involved in than we could ever have time for. Socially Tonto Verde has far exceeded our expectations. We play in golf and card groups, attend some of the many music or art activities and frequently meet up with friends for dinner either at the Tonto Verde Bar & Grill or the many restaurants in either north Scottsdale or in and near Fountain Hills. Hopefully this year we will find the time to participate in some of the hiking, fishing and sewing groups as well. All in all Tonto Verde has turned into a wonderful active retirement home for us.
