  • This is a nice part of richmond. It is relatively close to a college. There are some nice shops and restaurants to visit.
  • My family lives in town and almost every time I come to visit, my sister and I make a trip to Carytown Cupcakes. My complaints aren't so much about the cupcakes but the customer service. I have never been greeted warmly (a simple "hello" or "welcome" would be nice) and have always felt as though the employees are less than enthused to be there. My last visit was on 7/26/16 and the cashier was playing on her cell phone after she took our order and did not thank us for coming in when we left. I'm starting to think my business isn't appreciated here or the store has very poor management and/or hiring practices. I've also been interested in how their drinks (wine and beer) pair with the cupcakes but it has never been introduced to me when purchasing a cupcake. With the above said, I am hesitant to even ask because I wouldn't want to inconvenience anyone. I could honestly see myself coming here more if the staff had a friendlier attitude.
  • Never again will I come here. My 3 sons and I walked in and were trying to decide what we wanted to try. My 14 year old asked for the 2 he wanted and the girl boxing the cupcakes hands the box to the girl working the register and gives him the total. Did she not just see that we were all together and trying to decide what we wanted. I tell her we are all together and I'm purchasing more. She (girl boxing the cupcakes) looked like she had an problem that I said something. My 16 year old and I question what some of the flavors were and the girl on the register is the only one answering us, as the other girl looks on with a puss on her face. When we were complete we had a total of 9. The girl at the register informs me of the total, I look at the wall and see the price for a dozen and thought I might as well purchase a dozen. The girl boxing the cupcakes again looks like she has an attitude. She grabs a cupcake and somehow gets it on her shirt and in her face you can see she's pissed and cuts her eyes at me. I payed for them and could not wait to get out of this shop and I felt the feelings of we as customers were reciprocated. Had it not been for my family having a taste for cupcakes this evening and me carrying my sick 2 year old that had just came out the hospital a day before having surgery, I would have told them to take them back and refund my money. Now with all thay said about the horrible service, I felt the same about the cupcakes. We did not like them and I wish I would have just went to the shop across from the mall in Chesterfield. At least there you are greeted, given a description of the cupcakes and all with a smile and respect. I WILL NEVER COME BACK, with such poor service. Even if I liked them, nothing can bring me back to service this poor!!!!
  • Cup cakes are pretty good. I like the flavor of them. I will say for the size of them and price compared to other cup cake store they ar definitely OVERPRICED . But they do have a nice selection. And the employees are ok. They don't have a great working check out structure so it makes the getting a employee attention a little difficult.
  • A cool place with individual cup cakes made with care. Not your run of the mill dessert place.
  • The cupcakes here are on the dainty side. But they are well made and taste great. The store is also very cute. It is a clean bakery with a big window towards the back of the store where you can see the cupcakes being made. The selection is pretty big during the day so there should be plenty of different varieties to appeal to different tastes. Prices are what you would expect to pay for a high end cupcake, although some may find it a little high for the size of cupcake you are getting.
