  • We really had a great time exploring the grounds and the settlement...we have two teens in homeschool...two toddlers..and two seniors and there was something for everyone..  more »
  • Driving on a road trip we stopped here. It was a nice place with a playground for the kids and we walked down for a great view of the Kentucky river.  more »
  • A nice lesson in the local history you just have to experience when in the area. It will take you about an hour or two, make sure you visit all the stalls and talk to the locals.  more »

  • Very pretty Kentucky State Park campground. The people who work there are very nice and helpful. We enjoyed our stay for the night. I wanted to visit ‚Äčthe fort but it is closed Tuesday through Thursday and we were there Tues. There is some type of large outdoor processing plant close by which at times makes a lot of noise with big trucks. Pretty quiet overnight though.
  • This is a key part of the the history of Kentucky. Here you can learn the day to day life of the pioneers as well as participate in some of the activities. There is a Daniel Boone museum as well as a fort museum. Here the staff will show you how the pioneers made yard, wove blankets, made candles, blacksmithing, and medicines. It's very affordable and very entertaining. I must see for every history buff or Kentuckian.
  • Pretty fun place. I prefer when there are events going on like the blacksmith so I'd probably only go back during an event but even during the middle of the week there were actors who were in the different places making candles and soap so that was nice.
  • It was so nice to go see this and learn everything. I went with my parents and and grandma and my kids and we were all into everything. It was so awesome. We all had a great time. Price is not bad.
  • Always a great experience. Even though I have experienced this place many times. I always come back. Even if its a little pricey when you go inside to see something you can watch for free on YouTube. But still the view and scenery is what pulls me in. I can care less about the getting admission into a little tiny cottage area. The nature is the best part and it's free.
