The n/s table group pit boss Sat 8 Oct in evening seems lazy to do his job with some efficiency and friendly courtesy. The dealer notified him more than twice to check me in and some other players wit... read more »
What is nice about this casino is it seamlessly flows into the Circus Circus and El Dorado casinos as well. For this reason there are tons of restaurant and entertainment options to choose from. They ... read more »
Plenty of variety of slots to play. However cocktail waitress's are sparse . We were there over two hours and was served only once. It is a very busy casino.
Absolutely loved it. My wallet gently weeps but there is still a smile on my face. Over the 3 day stay not one issue arose. Doc Cheatham is a real asset to the casino and remembered my name from 3 months ago which blew my mind. Keep up the great work!
Older casino. Not as nice as the newer ones you'd see in Vegas. Also, the ventilation isn't as good as their Vegas counterparts, so you could definitely smell the smoke. The drinks at the Mexican restaurant were good and cheap, that was a plus. The rooms were subpar as they just weren't all that impressive. I've stayed at Holiday Inns that were nicer. The bed blanket was pretty thin. The bathroom was dark. I had to call to ask for a mini fridge and it didn't have a microwave. Overall, I enjoyed the fact that was lots to do, but would have traded that for more amenities. It was clean and comfortable however, so it's not like I wouldn't recommend this place. It just wasn't spectacular.
This hotel is a little older yet well taken of. The entrance is grand, the staff are friendly, and the casino is away from the hotel so you don't smell like a smoke stack the instant you enter. More laid back than most hotels, it feels comfortable. The rooms are clean, quiet, and properly stocked. The coffee in the rounds could be better, but at least they have coffee! The shampoo provided is quite nice as well. Very different from most casino hotels I have been to. As a last comment, it provides easy access to food, fun, and shopping.
Terrible overall experience...I booked a room online through Expedia for 2 adults and 2 children. Upon arrival, the front desk asked my children," don't you guys want your own bed?". I replied..." They like pullouts, you know, because they're like transformers.". Got checked in and into the room and there was only a king bed. Nothing else. I've never stayed anywhere that considers a single king bed, room enough for for human beings. Went back to the front desk, who seemed surprised I was dissatisfied. They somewhat reluctantly got us moved to a double bed room. Walking down the hall to our " upgrade", noticed room service trays all over the length of the hallway. Kinda strange, but , oh well. Got to the ok room, and just needed to get some food in our stomachs, so left the hotel to get something to eat. When we got back, my wife was going to go get ice, but there was no insert in the ice bucket...oh well, well just ask the front desk for an insert. Asked for ice bucket insert at 1120pm and they said housekeeping would bring it right up...we just wanted ice water, btw... heading back to the room stopped at a vending machine, just to get a water..out of water. At midnight...ice bucket insert was still somewhere in limbo, so I put a " do not disturb" placard on the front door because was tired and sick of waiting for an ice bucket insert. Guess what...at 1240 AM there was a knock at the door...it was housekeeping with our insert. Are you kidding me!? An hour to get an insert to a room!? Then you disregard the do not disturb sigh on the door? Cmon! Slept poorly on tired beds. Took a shower, and nature called. While taking care ofy business, noticed that ants were crawling all over the bathroom floor...gross. On the way to checkout, noticed all of the room service trays from the previous evening still in the hallway...gross. The staff overall, was unhelpful and you got the impression that they were dissatisfied with their jobs. The security guard, however, was a lovely man that actually seemed to care about people. I'm not sure if he was an actual hotel employee, or not...my guess is the company he worked for was contracted out by the hotel, otherwise he probably would've been miserable too...would never stay here again even if it was free... poorly managed property. My family and I would be more comfortable sleeping in our car, which I know, is a crazy statement. Doesn't mean it isn't true.
Everytime I stay, I have a comfortable bed, great meal and friendly service. My daughter attends UNR and my company has an office 10 minutes from the hotel. Convenient and relaxing.
