  • When we asked about the Giant skulls and other Giants bones, the first answer was about reburial due to ancestral rights or something. The second answer was the curator mumbling and walking away from us.
  • I'm an artist. I participate every year in early December one of the most entertaining and educational Art Shows called "History for the Holidays". This year the date is Saturday December 13, 2014. I so look forward to this exciting event all year long! I market Nevada stone pendants which I cut, shape, polish and wrap! Each one is unique. These are wrapped in Gold Fill, Copper, and Sterling wire that really shows off these gorgeous stones. I exhibit in many shows including the Reno Gem and Mineral Society shows. In addition, I teach Watercolor in Reno and have taught WC in Ireland. At this December show there is acapela singers that sing Christmas Carols. There is a delicious array of sweets and hot chocolate etc. It is always crowded and lasts from 11 to 4 PM. People look for my pendants each year. All the artists are professionals. See you there. Where to stay in Reno

Since Reno's casinos want you to save your money for the blackjack table, they offer some very reasonable rates on their rooms. Even a stay in one of the amenity-rich resort- or spa-style casinos downtown can be quite affordable. Plenty of hotels, motels, inns, and lodges are scattered throughout town, though most lie in and around downtown. If you're planning to ski in the mountains west of town, staying near Interstate 80 can save a couple minutes on your commute. Accommodations in Reno generally remain easy to find, but the days before and after the popular Burning Man festival in the desert east of the city tend to see a bump in visitors. Consider booking ahead if your visit coincides with the festival.
