  • Yes some of the gaming options are good. If your from out of town this may not be your place. Cal-Neva can be intimidating to people who have never been there. The food well it's to be desired. I don't know where people get their taste buds. Why such great reviews? The cleanliness of this place questionable. I would not eat here unless i wanted to get sick.
  • Nice that they have super cheap drinks and the bartenders are normally pretty friendly but the night time manager is the worst. Casinos normally don't ask for ID when you are walking around, since there are parts that are not 21 and over. I especially know this since I used to work security at another casino. Our policy was to wait until the guest was sitting down at a machine or a bar. This lady decided to go on a power trip and asked for our ID as we were on our way out of the casino. Me and my friend provided our IDs and asked why it was that she wanted to see them. This psychopath of a women did not feel the need to explain herself but instead proceeded to kick us out. I have never been treated so poorly in my life. This women is probably the reason this casino doesn't get very much business. Note to business owners, never give power to someone that got picked on growing up. Don't come here unless you wish be harassed by an aging women with nothing to live for.
  • We always get an excellent meal. The steak, prime rib and coconut shrimp are excellent. They have the best meals in town and you absolutely can not beat the prices!
  • Food is good, as are the prices. Servers were good. Slight problem with the temperature of the food, but easily fixed by throwing it in the microwave for a few seconds.
  • The casino is a bit older & is smaller than then newer casinos but the staff is friendly. I like the restaurants & the choices available. I always have good luck gambling here.

Where to stay in Reno

Since Reno's casinos want you to save your money for the blackjack table, they offer some very reasonable rates on their rooms. Even a stay in one of the amenity-rich resort- or spa-style casinos downtown can be quite affordable. Plenty of hotels, motels, inns, and lodges are scattered throughout town, though most lie in and around downtown. If you're planning to ski in the mountains west of town, staying near Interstate 80 can save a couple minutes on your commute. Accommodations in Reno generally remain easy to find, but the days before and after the popular Burning Man festival in the desert east of the city tend to see a bump in visitors. Consider booking ahead if your visit coincides with the festival.
