  • We took our great grand son to the Animal Ark in Reno. He was amazed. Though the animals were in enclosures, it was not like that of a regular zoo. They all ample places to run and exercise. There was...  more »

  • The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. Always ready to answer your questions! I love that they have I do on where the animals came from and why they are there.
  • We attended for the Cheetah-Run event. Staff was very helpful and accommodating for wheelchair needs. The property is located about 30mins North of Reno. The walkways are dirt/sand with some steep inclines. Take walking shoes and be prepared for the fact that it can be dusty at times. My only disappointment was the actual Cheetah run event. It was two older cheetah's for a total of 3 runs. I paid $100 for a spot in the photographers blind and I felt that I did not get $100 value. Three runs are over in a blink of an eye, and we left with that feeling of "was that all?"
  • Small, but worth the price. Got to see quite a few North American animals and some which are local even. A nice little zoo/refuge that isn't crowded. They have stories written of how each animal ended up at animal ark.
  • Fun hike while seeing the animals. Easy to make my way around and enjoy nature and animals. Very safe for kids.
  • The Animal Ark, sounds catchy doesn't it? Midway thru Red Rock Nevada off the beaten path, is a quaint little Zoo. It has Cheetahs, Tigers, Mountain Lion's, a Black Bear with a sad story, Wolves , Coyote, Foxes and Birds of Prey. There are guided tours and a small gift shop. Go early to see the animals and give a donation they need all the help they can get.
