  • I visited the Museum unpretentiously during a late last time I went to RC, and I was surprised positively. The building itself is beautiful and draws attention, as well as the surroundings (the Theater District, where the Museum is located, is very good for a walk). As for the museum itself, is very well done; shows the history of the region and several local historical curiosities, has super interesting objects and some interactive parts. I went one evening in the middle of the week, and there was only me there-which was nice because I could see all the attractions with time and calm. Furthermore, I was very well attended by the employee at the front desk. Student paid the price ($ 4) even without a membership card of American student (live and study in Brazil), but even at full price would be worth it, because it is not expensive ($ 6 when I went). The only downside is the opening hours: the Museum is closing a little early, at 4:00 pm, so arrive at least 2:00 before that if you want to look at all the satisfaction.

  • I would have liked to see more about the Ohlone, but the museum has some really thoughtful exhibits like a telegraph machine that can actually transmit messages to another machine on the other side of the room. I would definitely recommend a visit if you're in the area!
  • Nice little museum with interesting exhibits on ships, entrepreneurs, immigrant culture and history in San Mateo, Maverick's, and more.
  • Lots of interesting old baseball stories inside. I was surprised to learn so much about how important baseball was to the area.
  • Came here for a wedding and it is a beautiful place to hold one. Catering was a buffet, which had ok food, but just the building itself is awesome. I wish they had more rooms about the history of San Mateo though.
  • I love that there's a local history museum right downtown. Prices are good and the info and displays offer insights into how Redwood City was settled and developed.
