#1 of 16 in Things to do in Redlands
The Redlands Bowl Summer Music Festival story began in 1923 with the founding of the Redlands Community Music Association (RCMA), now Redlands Bowl Performing Arts (RBPA), by a woman with a vision - Grace Stewart Mullen. Mrs. Mullen's vision was that "music is for everyone" therefore no admission is ever charged for a Redlands Bowl performance. The season includes symphonies, operas, dance programs, and a full-scale musical production. The Redlands Bowl also features a Young Artist competition where talented young musicians compete for a chance to perform on the Bowl stage and for scholarship prizes. The Redlands Bowl is a treasured Southern California tradition. Redlands Bowl Performing Arts is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization.

  • When I was in high school this was the best spot to get busted. It was two blocks up from the police station and you had a pretty good chance of speaking with one of Redlands finest by hanging out there. Good times. Now I have a kid and we go to concerts and ride bikes there. It's great. Best library around here too.
  • Been coming to Redlands Bowl nearly every summer for last 17 years. We love all the different family oriented plays, musicals, and performances. We usually bring a couple large pizzas and a cooler with drinks and snacks, though they do sell drinks and refreshments, including ice cream bars, too! Bench seating, or you can picnic in the grass. Lots of fond summer night memories at the Redlands Bowl. Free admittance! Though they do pass the red bucket and I always drop in some cash. Thanks to Redlands Bowl for keeping it clean and family friendly.
  • Enjoyed our visit. Very clean with plenty of seating. Acoustics were good. The stage is a bit far from the seats, though. Concession booths along the back walkway. Easy theater to find.
  • Anytime you can see a concert or show at the Redlands Bowl, take advantage of it! You want to get there at least an hour early to get a good seat on the benches or on the grass. Picnic on the grass is the best way to enjoy the evening. Pro tip: Be sure to use the toilet facilities before the show and not at intermission... You've been warned.
  • Just grab any parking spot you find on the way and plan to walk a little bit. Bug spray is a good idea, along with your seat cushion or lawn chair. Picnics, snacks, nosh, beverages are encouraged; bring your own favorites or enjoy the hotdogs and ice cream on offer. There are no gates or tickets, but you can show your appreciation with a donation during intermission. Oh, and the performances are good too!
