Took time from our trip to new york to visit this amazing store. The guys were great even if i am a huge fan of theirs. Walt dont ever change.
Unless you're local, you're obviously visiting the Stash because you're a Kevin Smith fan and/or you watch Comic Book Men. Hubby and I are both and we ventured out on an epic geek road trip to visit the shop. As luck would have it, they were filming an episode of the show when we arrived and we were asked to be background extras. So yeah, there's that. Plus, of course, all the guys were in the shop that day and we got to see all the memorabilia (Buddy Christ, ftw!). But this is a legit comic shop, not just a showplace, and the prices are comparable to other shops, so you can do your shopping here too.
This place is a real treat. Seems like it's hard to find a decent comic book store. We stumbled upon this one by accident while visiting. I always go into these sorts of places for nostalgic reasons. The display and selection were awesome. If you're a fan of Kevin Smith you will be impressed with all his signed movie props and gear there. Really great comic book store, best one I've been to since I was a kid. Top notch Mr. Smith!
The way the place is decorated makes other comic book stores look like rundown flea markets. This place creates this great ambience when you first walk inside. You'll see nice comic book paintings on the wall, figurines on nice looking shelves, everything is well organized and not cramp up. Unfortunately that's where it ends, everything is expensive, small selection of omnibus books and other collected books. It does have a good collection of trades, single issues, figurines and merchandise but mostly of Jay and silent Bob. The guy who works there is friendly but doesn't really offer his help unless you ask for it, he just keeps himself preoccupied behind the counter or talking to someone else who works there.
Me and my family drove 2 1/2 hours to see the stash. Such a disappointment. No one greeted us. When I asked for help they didn't do anything. Half the store is just shirts that advertise the store.
I seen Walt when I came in the store talked to him and he was awesome. He took time to talk to me I asked if he would mind if I took a pic of him he said he would take one with me. I was shocked he was so nice. He was helping some one and he took time to take a pic with me and I really appreciate his time and if I'm ever back in jersey I would go their just because he was so humble and thank you Walt
