  • Great hiking trail with a variety of habitats and a wide variety of animals. That said, watch out for TICKS! I have gone 3 times and have gotten a tick twice, that was with wearing long pants and shirt. Easy to find large gators as well if that's what you are looking for.
  • Not surprisingly, the place is teaming with wildlife. Alligators float in the streams like logs and their babies move among them silently. We heard the call of bard owls and walked along the swamp boardwalk. Great location to visit if you love wildlife.
  • A great place to bird-watch many different types of habitats Cypress swamp, salt marsh ponds, freshwater ponds , Upland wooded areas too.
  • We visited one afternoon in Oct. The weather was amazing, as was the Caw Caw ctr. Very peaceful, beautiful scenery. Saw countless birds, rabbits, and yes gators! 1st spotted a baby in the tall marsh grass, then saw 3 more swimming in the water, AMAZING! Word of advice, bring your own mosquito repellent, or buy a bottle of theor DEET free spray sold in the gift shop. This is a MUST, otherwise you will be eaten alive. Besides the issue w8th the mosquitoes
  • A decent birding place...nice resources
