  • This was a fun place to visit. The staff was knowledgeable and accommodating. I enjoyed the materials were targeted for people of all ages, and my favorite part was the 'pit' for kids to dig for artifacts. They were bunged to the ground. Looked like fun. We liked that the admission let us in for 2 days, so we could enjoy a show in the theatre.
  • Great place for kids to learn and explore! I would definitely recommend stopping there l. $10 allows you to visit 2 days. There was so much great history to see! There are things for kids to see and feel.
  • A neat museum about the area. A lot of Native American artifacts and history. A fun place to spend an afternoon.
  • Great place to learn about the geology, paleontology, and human history (both native and homesteading) of the Black Hills and nearby area. Outstanding display of all the different types of rock in the hills. Also showing astronomy and local interest shows in the auditorium.
  • When this was suggested as a possible thing to do, I was ambivalent. I thought it would be a quick hour or so spent looking at stuff. Turned out to be an amazing 3 hours checking out the gallery and the exhibits. Highly recommend!

Those located downtown provide easy walking access to some of the area's most popular restaurants and bars.
