  • This family run campground is spectacular. Clean, quiet, comfortable. Nestled between Rt 17 and the Swift River there is some sporadic traffic noise but the sound of the rushing river (and the water level was quite low) is overwhelmingly relaxing. The area is amazing and while some people still feel the need to leave trash here and there, just do the right thing and pick it up if you see it. The campground has showering facilities (minimal charge for hot water), 24 hour CLEAN bathrooms, 24 hour laundry, general store and many paths to the river banks. The staff that we met, including one of the owners and Paul were very helpful and friendly. We camped in a group on three RV sites, one was a little rocky but still a nice rustic site. Fire pits, picnic tables, power, potable water -- everything you need for roughing it ;) My family and friends would highly recommend this campground and the area in general and would rate it an eleven on a scale of one to ten. For those seeking to prospect/pan for gold.....there is NO MORE GOLD in this river and any that may still be in those vertical crevices of geological wonder is ALREADY CLAIMED, we're just going back year after year to haul it out, only have a one ton truck. Just kidding, bring the kids, swim in some of the cleanest water in the world, pan for gold maybe get a nugget or two, relax and enjoy what this amazing area in Western Maine has to offer. Oh last thing, definitely worth the trip to Height of Land, try to time it at sunset. One word....WOW.
  • Great location next to a cool canyon and near many attractions in Western Maine. Friendly staff and good prices. Sites are not very private. The office closes at 4pm.
  • A family friendly campground. Small but offers a playground, wifi, swiming, electricity, and water, and store.
  • It's a really fun place to go to if u ever want to go cliff jumping. They have swimming on the other side for the kids if they don't want To do it also.
  • Had our site, #14, within spitting distance to the canyon cliffs, which are fantastic. Went to sleep with the sound of rushing water, loved it. Sites were clean, quiet, bug free, which was surprising. For $22 a night, could NOT beat the value versus price. Note, no flushable toilets, but the toilets were very clean and had no smell. We will be coming back here again
