Where to stay in Raleigh

Staying downtown provides the most convenient access to Raleigh's leading attractions. You'll find a couple of large, efficient hotels here--they feature a large volume of beds. The area around the North Campus of North Carolina State University lies just west of downtown and features a handful of additional hotels. A cluster of national chain hotels and motels lies in the midtown area north of downtown. There are a couple of bus lines that provide easy access to downtown from here, so this area serves as a suitable option if you cannot find accommodation in the city center. The intersection of I-440 and Route 70 to the northwest of downtown features numerous hotels and motels, but these largely cater to business travelers who require convenient access to both downtown and the airport.

  • Lafayette Village is a great destination for shopping, eating and special events, with a lovely courtyard and lots of outdoor seating. Simply Crepes is a favorite for dinner with fast service and a delicious array of fresh crepe offerings (hot and cold), along with wine specials. Crafty Beer is a great stop to meet friends anytime or after working out at nearby Lifetime Fitness. I also love the Thursday night monthly Wine Walks for Charity and the annual Pork Out (held last weekend, sponsored by the Savory Spice Shoppe)!
  • The variety of shops is nice. It was good to let my kids go play with other children in the center yard. Very relaxing!
  • The restaurants, shops, and overall feel of the place is very special. You could easily spend a whole day here. Love it.
  • Hi there Paul hi I don't know if you remember me from 14 years ago this is Frankie Ruiz her friend Wayne clyse who is a handicap young man we've been coming here for almost 14 years now there many many restaurants in the area and there awesome we ask for simple little burger with Swiss cheese pink not well done and it was but my friend handicapped as he is he said Let It Go was raining so hard and we had the two little dogs so we figured the waitress would at least give us maybe 15 20% off discount not that we're worried about it we would have given it to the waitress but the manager found it very poorly and I'll pinion thank you Paul and you have a great life a great day and sorry to bother you but this is Al feed back to you on your restaurant
  • Always fun and something to do for everyone. I always see entire families out in the courtyard, especially when they have live music. I highly recommend.
