Quechee Gorge, Quechee
(4.3/5 based on 600+ reviews on the web)
Dubbed "Vermont's Little Grand Canyon," Quechee Gorge features hikes down into the canyon or up to the bordering waterfalls for views of the surrounding area. Fish and canoe in the river, hike one of the marked trails, and go cross-country skiing or snowshoeing in the winter. You'll have the option to cross the gorge using the suspension bridge or use the pedestrian walkways on both sides. Take time to climb along the boulders beside the river at the bottom of the path. Be sure to wear walking shoes or boots since the rocks can be uneven and slippery. Plan to see Quechee Gorge and other attractions that appeal to you using our Hartford vacation route planner.

  • A really nice place, good and easy stroll where you can see the dam at one end and a little in the second. May spadseres of all, even small children. There was a beautiful October day when autumn colors really got one for losing your breath.

  • My husband and I are rookie hikers, and we were hesitant to hike to the bottom of Quechee Gorge (for fear of the hike back up), but the trails were gradual, not steep. We didn't need our hiking poles ...  more »

  • Great pit stop along highway 4.
  • Excellent for those looking solicitud and a little bit of thrill at the same time.
  • Beautiful location, but the store isn't anything too spectacular.
  • This is where you park to hike the Quechee Gorge. So not much to report other than they had some nice little write-ups about stuff, maps of the trails, and some information.
  • Cute gift shop and bathrooms.
