  • Great couple of days. Camping area is well maintained, showers were immaculate. We had a blast on the ropes course and Terry was a really fun and knowledgeable whitewater guide.  more »

  • I went tent camping here and can't vouch for any of the activities because I wanted to do the civil war hikes in the area. The staff was extremely helpful and nice. The bathrooms were the cleanest and best maintained that I've ever seen at a campground. There are a few things I didn't like about tent camping here though. First the tent campsites are almost on top of each other. At 10pm a family checked in they used their car's headlights to set up their tent blinding me. They argued the whole time and since I was right next to them I couldn't ignore it. If the sites were more spaced out or had vegetation between them it would have been better. Second, because they do so many activities, there is a constant stream of people walking through the tent camping area. If you want privacy or seclusion this is not the place. If you want to sneeze and not have the guy camping right next to you feel obligated to say "God bless you" because he's so close, this is not the place. Also I would not recommend biking to this location. It is not safe. The road is essentially a highway with little to no shoulder at times.
  • Great rafting trip! The guides are very knowledgeable and fun. They do a good job of making the trip as exciting or as peaceful as you like. They keep you safe while also giving you a great ride. Steve was our guide and he was fantastic! The facilities were very clean.
  • We camped 2 nights and white water rafted. We had such a great time here the staff was all very sweet and there is a lot to do on site. We were very excited that there was a craft beer tent and a great local singer to serenade us by the fire. We can't wait to go back and were so sad to leave.
  • This place has such a beautiful campsite and clean bathroom/house. The staff in the stores are courteous. Whitewater rafting guides are nice and informative. There is no curfew that I'm aware of. The gates close at 9 pm. You can get out after 9 but not back in. We went camping with scouts so by certain time, things quiet down. I can see why some people complain about the noise from other people/campsites since there is no enforcement. Also, the campsites are near bridges so you may hear traffic and train running at night time. There are portable johns near the campsites. A few things that I'm noy too crazy about 1. To get to the camp sites, you will need 4WD that is high off the ground like a Toyota Highlander for example. We have a van and that wouldn't do. We parked up at the top and loaded things slowly. We did get help from another scout family with an SUV to transport the heavier stuff. 2. The walking path is steeped!!! Some parts of the path worry me. However, none of the cub scouts had any falling off or accidents. 3. The bathhouse is up at the top. To get there, you will have to use the walking path. By the time I got to the top, I was breathless. In all, it was a pleasant camping experience.
  • My first time white water rafting with my boyfriend was amazing. We found the offer on Groupon and decided to try it out. Not only is it beautiful, but we had the best overall experience due to our raft guide. He was very knowledgeable about the area and made us laugh the whole entire time. If you get a chance to snag "ginja ninja" as your guide... do it. Can't wait to go again!!
