  • It's the perfect little zoo to bring the kids to for a low cost outing. It's small enough that we can walk the whole place in a couple of hours (great to wear out a toddler) but still has a good mix of animals to observe and a cute food stand (kid friendly choices) in a shady picnic area (one of several sit down areas). Highly recommend the membership...it's a lot better deal if you want to make multiple trips (especially in spring fall) with some pretty good deals for special occasions.
  • All the animals looked very healthy and well taken care of. The zoo is smaller than Cheyenne Mountain or Denver Zoo but definitely worth it! I gave 4 stars because there were exhibits that were no longer there or empty and the construction in the same building as the penguins was supposed to be completed in 2017, so that was a bummer. Will definitely be returning.
  • I am not a fan of animals in captivity as it is not a natural setting for the animals nor for educating our youth. I am a chronic student of the history, culture and the arts of Pueblo and the Pueblo Zoo is a brilliant example of New Deal creative infrastructure from the 1930s. Multiple New Deal agencies collaborated in the development of the Pueblo Zoo, a component of the City Park complex. The stunning stone structures at the zoo (and throughout the park) are still in use. “The two-and-one-half acre zoo contains an assortment of buildings and structures constructed between 1933 and 1940, utilizing native calcium sandstone quarried 25 miles west of Pueblo. The zoo exemplifies the trend toward exhibiting animals in more natural settings. The Pueblo Zoo was constructed during the Great Depression through the efforts of three New Deal agencies: the Public Works Administration; Civil Works Administration; and the Works Progress Administration.”
  • Absolutely amazing zoo. Animals are treated VERY well. I love the history of the origin of the place. Great way to spend the day. Yearly membership is definitely worth it.
  • A nice place to visit. Friendly staff, great animals. Can do in half a day. Prices are very reasonable, including the gift shop.
