  • If you want a real taste of Italy without the plane fare this is the place. They carry a very wide variety of in-house made pastas and food items. You will have to go to Florence itself to find the same quality as you find here.
  • One of my favorite places to eat and shop. In warm weather you can eat outside in the plaza overlooking the fountain. The deli inside is like being in Italy!
  • Great place for lunch. Outside seating. Incredible delivery inside with imported Italian products.
  • Amazing sandwiches. They make their sausage in-house so try that!
  • I was missing Italy...and found it! Lots of delicious prepared food, a small espresso bar, amazing salami, cheeses, good selection of imported Italian food products.

Where to stay in Providence

Most of the guest beds in Providence lie in and around downtown; this is the most convenient area to stay in during your visit. Right downtown you'll find a handful of large hotels from national chains. Rooms here can be pricey, but many offer sweeping views of Providence Harbor. Federal Hill features a few locally owned inns, bed and breakfasts, and small hotels in historical buildings. You'll find additional homey establishments around the State House just north of downtown and the College Hill area across the Providence River to the east. Avoid the South Providence area and East Providence across the Seekonk River.
