  • What a beautiful area to explore, unspoiled nature at its best...and this lighthouse and it's fascinating history is worth the journey to " up north" Michigan. You can climb to the top for an amazing ...  more »

  • This visit should be in the Summer. It's too cold the rest of the year. You won't have cell service there, but you can get internet at the McDonald's in Alpena, 23 miles away.  more »

  • A day before Memorial Day and the crowds are absent, well maintained and history abound. The fog took a little time to lift but the wait was worth it. "And the great ships sail outward and return, And ever joyful, as they see it burn, Bending and bowing o'er the billowy swells, They wave their silent welcomes and farewells" Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
  • It was a lot of fun, really fun to climb and see the few from the top, and the history of the place in the museum was amazing, a lot of history there.
  • Nothing matches the beauty and the history of the TWO Presque Isle Lighthouses. Both have been restored, both can be climbed, and both offer history lessons to anyone interested about the Great Lakes. The park areas and hiking along the Lake Huron shore are unparalleled. Events occur throughout the summer months, and the gift shops and museum are filled with items that encourage and expand on the history of the area and lights. Visit Presque Isle!!!
