Falls Road Golf Course was completed in 1961 on 150 acres of former farmland east of the Village of Potomac. The layout offers scenic rolling terrain with 4 sets of tees, generous fairways, and large greens. It has a great mix of holes: the front nine is a parkland type course and the back nine is more tree lined. The course measures slightly more than 6100 yards from the back tees and plays to a par 70: it provides an enjoyable test of golf for players of all abilities.Using our world travel planner, Potomac attractions like Falls Road Golf Course can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

The course is only 10 minutes from our home and gives a great senior rate for those over 60. Also, if you live outside Montgomery County, you still get that rate. more »
I have avoided this course because it always looks so busy, so I was pleasantly surprised when I finally played. It is a short course, but it is challenging enough. It is not surrounded by houses, and... more »
For a public course it's in very good shape. No initiation fee. No dues no food minimum I've played many a private club that's not as well maintained. more »
Last outing likely my last after playing here for over 15 years. Worst ever golfing experience playing here Thursday, August 11. My 4-some (1 rider, 3 walkers) was constantly hounded by a "player assistant", MaryEllen, for falling behind the group in front of them (3 players, all in carts). We were always on the teebox as the group in front walked off the green. At the turn, the front group did not play the back nine, and immediately, MaryEllen told us we were now several holes behind. DUH. She wasn't even aware the the group had dropped out! She harassed us several more times on the back nine. We finished the round in 4 hours, 15 minutes; a respectable pace of play. After the round, one of the starters said they have a 3-hour pace of play.... maybe for a two-some, in cooler weather, and par golfers and carts. Totally clueless staff.
Course is in good condition. The staff is pleasant. I lose more balls here than any other MCG course. It always seems to be crowded. I can always count of playing in under 4.5 hours as Laytonsville, Needwood, or Poolesville. Better have 5.5 hours to spare for Falls Road.
Rough was so long lost like 8 balls that would've been easily findable if the course was kept nicley.
