Falls Road Golf Course was completed in 1961 on 150 acres of former farmland east of the Village of Potomac. The layout offers scenic rolling terrain with 4 sets of tees, generous fairways, and large greens. It has a great mix of holes: the front nine is a parkland type course and the back nine is more tree lined. The course measures slightly more than 6100 yards from the back tees and plays to a par 70: it provides an enjoyable test of golf for players of all abilities.Using our world travel planner, Potomac attractions like Falls Road Golf Course can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

Falls road golf course is a local gem. Great course, interesting layout, well-kept. Prices can be a bit high but are generally fair for the area. more »
The course is only 10 minutes from our home and gives a great senior rate for those over 60. Also, if you live outside Montgomery County, you still get that rate. more »
I have avoided this course because it always looks so busy, so I was pleasantly surprised when I finally played. It is a short course, but it is challenging enough. It is not surrounded by houses, and... more »
The course is in good shape every time I have played at Falls Road, but the pace of play is ridiculous and the staff members are rude and discourteous. With that being said, the starter that was working the last time I played was exceptional. I believe his name was Nick, he was extremely polite, genuine, professional, and helpful. He made sure that I got out as a single on a very busy day and addressed me as "Sir" (You don't hear that much anymore). Its not everyday that someone goes above and beyond to help make your experience better, but this kid did exactly that.

Nice people, good course, empty seed bottles, putting greens need work, overall good. Beverage cart showed up, had hotdogs on the 9th hole. Liked that. They offer lessons.
This review is directed more at the dying breed of golfers who walk fast, and pride themselves on never holding up the golfers behind. The course is in good condition, and the staff is polite. Unfortunately, this course is hacker heaven and loaded with golfers generally devoid of etiquette. I have played it a few times, and would love to make it my home course, as I live only 2 miles away. I play with fit golfers who are in their 50s, 60s and 70s, whose scores range from 80-90. We only walk and can finish an early morning round in 2:45 at the other MCG courses. This is an impossible feat at Falls Road, because of the concentration of degenerate, incompetent duffers. If you routinely 4 putt and still treat your 5th as if you had a green jacket on the line, you will fit right in at Falls Road.
Course is in good condition. The staff is pleasant. It always seems to be crowded. I can always count on playing in under 4.5 hours at Laytonsville, Needwood, or Poolesville. Better have 5.5 hours to spare for Falls Road. I managed to get the first tee time this week and encountered a golfer on hole 13 who started on the back nine. Falls Road allows players to start on the back 9 for one hour after the first tee time. But it's rather pathetic when a golfer who started on hole 10 NLT 8:04 AM is on hole 13 at 8:42. I also noticed on this day that there were SIX motorized golf carts lined up on tee #3 less than an hour after the first tee time. I was wondering why I didn't see a soul on holes 3, 4, and 5 as I played 6 and 7.
It is close to home, reasonably challenging, has fast greens, and the entire staff is friendly and professional.
