  • Was able to stop by and see this on the way. It was cool to go inside a sub and see all of the controls and how the crew lived. Watched a video in the visitors center.  more »
  • Visited the submarine very educational and history of how these vessels were like to work in and how it was a experimental submarine for the US NAVY was very impressed  more »
  • I took my boyfriend here and he loved it. Great for any history buffs and great for children because you have free range of the sub, and can climb into the bunks, sit in the navigation room and push a...  more »

  • What a great little museum and garden area. The price is extremely cheap ($14 for 2 adults and 2 kids). In the submarine, for the area you can walk in - which is all of the upstairs, you can turn handles and dials to your hearts content. You can also look through the periscope which is awesome! The outside garden has been well tended and has some poignant and lovely memorials to lost sailors.
  • This is a self guided tour. There are speakers on the wall throughout the ship that tell the history of the ship which allowed us to listen to what we thought was interesting and move past places we lacked interest. The coolest thing is you can touch everything and spin knobs and dials which is what my son did! Hands-On history for sure. There is an admissions fee, so be prepared.
  • Great place to visit with kids for a few hours. The submarine is well maintained and a joy to visit. The sub is a little confined and would not be a good choice for a claustrophobic person. Kids will enjoy spending time on the sub. It is a reminder of the past and a good teaching opportunity for those who enjoy naval history.
  • It's a self guided tour, but it's awesome to be able to go in a actual submarine and explore. They left most system intact, so it's fun to go in and try to turn the control knobs. Just be aware it could get pretty crammed pretty fast inside.
  • Nice place to visit, and support. Learn a little about history, engineering, and what Navy officers that rode this had to go through. Great staff and gift shop too. Word of advice, if you're visiting, take your time, and relax. If you try to rush and push through, you're going to make the experience less enjoyable for yourself and others.
