Peninsula Park is a public park in Portland, Oregon. The 16.27acre park is located in the North Portland neighborhood. In 2007, area residents started to propose a piece of public art be added to the park honoring Rosa Parks, as the park lies along Rosa Parks Way.Rose gardenPeninsula Park became the city's first public rose garden in 1909 when it was purchased for $60,000 with funds raised in a 1908 bond measure. Designed by Emanuel L. Mische, the two-acre garden contains 5,700 roses featuring 75 varieties. The official rose of Portland, named Mme. Caroline Testout, was cultivated at Peninsula Park. In 1913, the park was chosen as the location for an annual rose show, where it remained until Washington Park was selected as the location of the International Rose Test Garden in 1917.

  • I grew up going to this park. It has had a lot to offer over the years. The Rose Garden is gorgeous! It was where they originally did the princess coronation.
  • Easily my favorite park in North Portland, and one of the best maintained in the city. It's very well laid out with ample space for whatever park activity your interested in. The rose garden is gorgeous.
  • One if my favourite parks in PDX! Beautiful especially when roses are blooming. Lots to do, games to play and a swimming pool in the summer!
  • This park is huge! It is also so dreamy. Walking threw the rise garden in full bloom is like wandering in a fairy tale estate. It is well maintained, and clean for a Portland park.
  • Beautiful park when the roses are blooming. Very kid friendly and has a great community center.
