I've been here twice and really enjoyed both visits. The beer selection is pretty broad and interesting. I did the sampler, found one I liked and then ordered a glass. The food was really good. We ord... read more »
We came to this brewery to appease my boyfriend. He loved it but the beers were a little bit unique for my liking. A lot of the flavor profiles were very extreme and non-traditional for my taste. Howe... read more »
Had a great dining experience at Hair of the Dog last week. Ordered the Reuben sandwich; one of the best I have had - the meat was tender and very flavorful. Others in my party ordered the Mac n Chees... read more »
Interesting beers... Not something I'd want every day but fun to try. Service was good & friendly. My problem was with the uninspired, unsatisfying vegan food. This is often a problem with omnivore places & cooks that try (half-heartedly) to give a nod to the vegetarians. We ordered 3 items. Mushrooms & Potatoes (Sautéed w/ onions, celery & peppers), Vegetable Sauté (Beets, carrots, mushrooms, onions, celery & peppers). Peppers should've been the first ingredient listed in both of these. They were ALL green peppers. Also bland. The Brussels Sprouts were pretty dull too. Vegetables aren't THAT hard to season, people. We asked for bread, butter and salt and were given sandwich slices, lol. Wouldn't go back for the food, that's for sure.
My favorite brew pub in Portland. The tap list is ever changing. Beers from the wood and the stone make for a good change of pace. The food is also really good. Get the duck wings, get them spicy, change your life. Getting a full tasting flight is a fun thing to do, just bring a friend or two.
Beers taste close to one another with terrible after taste. barely any meat on duck wings, good mix if you like spicy wings though.
Amazing brewery! The food is stellar. I love the location too. All of the items on menu sounded great, but I went with the Pastrami, and the Po Boy... SOOOOO GOOOOD.
Cherry Lila really tasted like it was literally brewed with dog hair. I passed it to the regular sitting next to me and he passed it back after one sip. When I said I couldn't get it down they offered me a taster for $2.50. Giving 3 stars because they comped me the beer and I didn't actually taste the food.
