At the intersection of Exchange and Fore Streets, discover the historical waterfront district of Old Port. This tiny neighborhood covers only a few blocks, but connects the working waterfront with an area for shopping, dining, entertainment, and residential units. Stroll the cobblestone streets to see the area's local boutiques and shops, taste some of Maine's well-known lobster dishes, or experience a true ocean-to-table restaurant. For a closer look at the working part of the district, walk along Commercial Street to see the waterfront in action. • Old Port is an awesome area - a "hidden" treasure that we (who live here) would prefer stay hidden. So despite the world class restaurants, urban bars, greatest number of breweries per capital in the ...  more »

  • Sat there for a good 15 minutes and had to flag someone down to even get initial water. They were out of "anything containing pasta." Seemed understaffed. We watched the table that came in after us, be waited on and served before we did. The food was just ok. All in all pretty disappointing, but we understand "off days." The guy waiting on us was extremely gloomy and annoyed. We tipped well anyway because it seemed like he was being overworked and was exhausted.
  • After walking around Old Port, we stopped in because we were hungry. We both got a cup of soup; one beer each; she got a salad and I got a sandwich. Total $52. Friendly service --- ok beer selection. Price would be better if total came to $32. Not worth the price, wouldn't return next time in Portland.
  • Great local fare. Chelsea is accommodating and anticipate customer needs. Great atmosphere and yummy lobster bisque and lobster Caesar salad is so filling. This is exactly creative enough without pretension.
  • Had a great time here, they offer incredible drinks and stupendous service.
  • If you want to know what the Old Port bar scene was like in it's heyday, than this is the place for you. Nice to see it hasn't changed a bit.
