  • My wife and I had dinner here the other night for our anniversary and it was fantastic. We didn't have a reservation because the trip to Portland was last minute but arrived early and got one of the walk-in tables. The blue fish and halibut entrees were cooked in the wood fired oven on piping hot skillets with beautiful seasonings and paired with delicious vegetables. The pork belly and fettuccine appetizers were delicious. Everything was cooked to perfection. The service is great, all of the staff are friendly and looking to please. It was great fun being able to sit so close to the beautiful open kitchen and wood fired oven and grill, watching the chefs do their magic. This was not our first time here and won't be or last. Highly recommended.
  • This place brought us to another time. The waitress we got was so sweet that made us forgot we were at a restaurant. It felt very comfortable. The food, which was suggested all my her, was splendid. Even the cocktails and wine selection that we had ( both a red and a white) was on point. I can't wait to go back. And here are some pictures:
  • Probably my favorite restaurant in all of New England. Amazing locally sourced, seasonal menu, great cocktails, and a friendly knowledgeable staff. It's (deservedly) super crowded, so you'll either have to make reservations a few weeks in advance, or get their early about 30 minutes before they open. Otherwise, you'll be waiting a while for a table (but it's worth it!)
  • Our experience dining for a special occasion, was perfection in all regards, a sensory delight, from start to finish. Our choices were all seafood and vegetables. Thank you Sarah, our waitress, the chefs and all staff! Wow!
  • I would not recommend this place to anyone. You cannot get food the way you want it prepared . . . only their way. This evening, I asked for onions for my green salad. Waiter said, "we do not have any onions prepared this evening." What the hell does that mean, I could have prepared some onions in about 15 seconds. Additionally, I wanted my $35 steak prepared medium. No, can't have that either. It must be rare or well done. Some customer service that is! So, not a good evening at Fore Street, and will never go back. It's the little things that create excellent customer service, but they have not mastered those skills yet. Very expensive for poor service. Do not go there!
