  • Lake Michigan is the best..bar none..St. Tropez, France found me yearning for Lake Michigan....the landscape, the water, the fun available is unmatched...walk the beach, climb the Dunes....all there! ...  more »
  • Our family loves to walk along the Riverwalk. It is such a peaceful, beautiful place. We live close by, so it is nice to be able to go there whenever we want during the summer.
  • This little park is an excellent access point to beautiful Lake Michigan. There are some paved trails, lots of parking, access to the beach is closed at this time. There is no fee. The views are amazi...  more »

  • Worse beach for water activities. I hate the way Burns Ditch empties out into it. Similar design as New Buffalo but I give New Buffalo a pass because it is more beach resort vibe with more activity and people.
  • My favorite place to go for sunsets in Portage. Neat little walking/biking trail from further up the road and the pier is always nice to check out.
  • I found this awesome beach one day when I was lost and have been going back for the last five years all the way from Chicago.
  • Tried to get to this park, but the GPS didn't quite have the entrance correct. The entrance is a little further west from the address in the Indiana guide book. Then it seems like you are entering a factory, but if you persist, you will get there. The pavilion is beautiful, the breakfront is a nice walk, saw a heron catch a minnow. People fished off the breakfront. The beach looked fun, but we didn't have swimsuits. The dunes are closed so go the the Dunes state park if you wish to hike.
  • Great place for a sunset!
