  • This is a wonderful place for a walk and a great place for a picnic, or even a place to clear your head. Really a must see if you are in the area on a beautiful day.
  • It's such a beautiful place to watch the waves, catch a sunset, or stroll the walkways. It's sad that the beach erosion has drastically shrunk the size of the beach....hope the DNR can address this.
  • Just the fact that this is brownfield redevelopment at its best is reason enough to visit, but the views, the walk and the surf are worth the trip. Didn't give it 5 stars as the beach erosion from sto...  more »

  • Worse beach for water activities. I hate the way Burns Ditch empties out into it. Similar design as New Buffalo but I give New Buffalo a pass because it is more beach resort vibe with more activity and people.
  • My favorite place to go for sunsets in Portage. Neat little walking/biking trail from further up the road and the pier is always nice to check out.
  • I found this awesome beach one day when I was lost and have been going back for the last five years all the way from Chicago.
  • Tried to get to this park, but the GPS didn't quite have the entrance correct. The entrance is a little further west from the address in the Indiana guide book. Then it seems like you are entering a factory, but if you persist, you will get there. The pavilion is beautiful, the breakfront is a nice walk, saw a heron catch a minnow. People fished off the breakfront. The beach looked fun, but we didn't have swimsuits. The dunes are closed so go the the Dunes state park if you wish to hike.
  • Great place for a sunset!
