It does cost to get in. I believe $6.00 per person. Beautiful area. Natural spring fed swimming/diving area. Gin clear water with numerous colorful and enormous Koi swimming in the large diving area. ... read more »
Redneck heaven. The scuba diving was great in the morning. Once the number of divers went up, the visibility went down. Saw a fresh water eel and other fishes. Good place to train new students. Lots o... read more »
The springs are have chilly waters during the summer. This feels very good when the temperatures are 95 plus outside. I enjoyed swimming around the springs, but wish I had brought my scuba equipment. ... read more »
Fun place but i really think they need to do a little fixing up on the main events for what they charge... they have barely changed in the last few years I've been going... they changed the lining for the big slide which usually has the longest line but they used cheap vinyl floor and it's painful to slide on and chunks were missing when I went and my legs got tore up... another dive board and maybe an easier way to get the roap swing back would be some affordable things they could do that could help a lot, among other things... they seem to be more worried about cabins and facilities but those are useless if the events people come for are not taken care of.
Hello there, our trip started very fun but at some point I lost my group of friends. Keep in mind I live in Georgia and this was my first trip to vortex, so I was unable to locate where my vehicle was since I wasn't with my freinds who know the area. The staff (two females) then proceeded to accuse me of being drunk just because I didn't know where my vehicle was, since apparently losing something makes you automatically drunk I guess. Eventually the cops where called for no reason mind you because they believed we were fighting, my cousin had a mark on his face from smacking the water, because you know that's what regular freinds and cousins do all the time fight each other, yeah right. After talking with the officer within seconds he determined these so called "employees" where making straight up lies. None of these where true and quite honestly borderline slander quite frankly. I wasn't drunk, there was no fight, and I was being constantly harassed by the same two females who in my opinion should be fired. They never even helped me try to find my truck and just simply harassed me the whole time. On top of wasting cop resources they ruined the end of my family trip. I will never return vortex ever in my life unless the quality of staff improves. Very disrespectful and terrible people persons, I'm only 22 and I was being much more respectful while these older females bereted me constantly. Just in my personal opinion these ladies need to be punished and learn how to properly do there jobs. Disgraceful!
I loved the dive. Nice and clear and a good bit of space to explore. Nice cave area. They also have cabins, a pool and another area with a water slide. Recommend going early in the mornings to avoid the crowds.
Vortex has went thru many changes over the last decade. But one this has stayed the same. They still hire teenagers who know nothing about diving. And you can forget getting the manager. Not to mention the countless scuba instructors they have fired for various reasons. Not knocking you Barry A you were one of the few good ones. Its a great place to dive just poorly ran.
Beautiful place to stay and camp. And if you need help with anything just ask. Me and my family love this place!! Birthday party to getting married!!
