  • A must do on a family summer outing to experience first hand a place in the beautiful Montana mountains and forests to enjoy a picnic and dig for your very own real and natural quartz crystals.
  • My son found a monster Crystal. We love this place. Good people around, clan bathrooms. Nice rangers. You gotta go
  • What a weird place. Looks like some sort of battle happened here: craters, trees falling over, etc. But the kids think it is great to dig up crystals (buried treasure!) We have been here three or four times, and have always found crystals. Shovels and screens do make you more productive though!
  • Located in the heart of the Pioneer mountains, half of the visit is really the drive to get there. Once there you enter an area that could be the over grown site of a WWII bombing run, as years of people digging for crystals has left it pock-marked with holes. Children and unprepared adults can simply short through the dirt around the holes and find small treasures, and the die hards have been seen at times digging holes deeper than they are tall. Pets are required on the leash but if you find a spot with some shade they seem to not mind much watching their owners get dirty.
  • Fun place to go exploring. Bring mosquito repellent.
