Create an itinerary including Spouting Horn
Local Hawaii legend speaks of Spouting Horn and its ocean blowhole on Kauai's south shore. Formed by a combination of volcanic lava rocks and erosion from crashing waves, the spout represents the home of a mythical and angry lizard. Waves funneled into the small opening in the rock shelf can blast as far as 15 m (50 ft) into the air from the mouth of the blowhole, spraying the surrounding area. You can take photos of the spout from the nearby viewpoint with the Pacific Ocean as a backdrop. Keep in mind that this force of nature can be dangerous; remain behind the guard rails and obey all posted signs. • This view was the most beautiful in all of Hawaii. The colors of the water and the huge waves crashing on the lava rocks were amazing.

  • This didn't disappoint. When the seas are really coming in this blow hole shoots 100' plus into the air. Nice platform viewing area. there are many other blow holes around the island but this one.....  more

  • Nice place with rest rooms and picnic benches. Lots of roosters around for kids to get excited about. The spouting horn makes good horn noise, the spouting depends on waves sometimes it is pretty big sometimes it is small. So stick around for few minutes to experience large and small fountains.
  • Spouting Horn is a Beautiful Location. Multiple Blow Holes.
  • Beautiful location. Small park with amazing views and restrooms. You can sometimes see sea turtles and spotted eagle rays here.
  • Follow the directions and you will come to the perfect spot for Sprouting Horn. But it does require patience, and mostly your camera isn't ready. We were grateful our kiddos had some other kiddos to chat with while we waited, and to comment on the turtle we saw. This spot has bathrooms, always a plus!
  • It’s a quick and fun adventure. It’s also very pretty. You can’t really get too close to the spouting horn because it’s fenced off. But good for pictures. There’s also a bathroom but maybe bring toilet paper. There’s parking also.
