  • Entirely too expensive. EVERYTHING was an additional charge. We paid so much money we should have been treated like royalty. Instead we felt used for our money and treated very poorly. We spent 2 nigh...  more »

  • Well managed. A lot of fun. Great slides with short lines. Loved the indoor/outdoor hot tub. It was freezing and icy rain while soaking in a hot tub... really cool feeling. The place doesn't try to price gouge. Meals were reasonably priced and tasty. It was well-managed and the lifeguards were very professional. Had a great time!
  • Really awesome rooms and facilities. They were spacious, new, and comfortable. The TVs in the rooms are huge. Everything is indoors so you don't need to go outside for anything. The water park is the obvious main attraction and my kids enjoyed every moment. The water is heated in the winter and the temperature felt like it was 85-90 inside, which was great. I've never been to a Kalahari resort before so wasn't sure what to expect, but it honestly felt more premium than the outdoor parks. Great place to spend 2-3 days.. highly recommended, and we will probably be back next year!
  • The water park is as advertised and it got bigger in 2017. The arcade is huge. But the food is very pricey from the market selling prepackaged food and snacks to the sit down restaurants. 3 of the restaurants are relatively upscale and priced accordingly. Bring as many of your own snacks as you can or be prepared to spend heavily on meals. Only the buffet is semi reasonable for families.
  • Visited from Texas where we have real water parks. We were looking forward to Kalahari but found the facilities to be dirty, understaffed (with closed rides), bad food, expensive, and rude staff. For the price of admission, I expected much better service and cleanliness. The layout of the water park is even nonsensical... with a lazy river that cuts through the middle with limited points of entry and staff yelling at kids when they get off a tube (seriously, what kind of lazy river enforces staying on a float?). The outside spa was the best thing about the place. The water was colder than expected, and the temp inside felt much colder than the advertised 84 with kids chattering everywhere. We'll never be back and Kalahari will need to step up their game if they ever try to expand in Texas. Tips for survival: 1. Get your towels right when you walk in (and stock up). They're impossible to find anywhere else when you need them, and they run low on clean ones. 2. Get a table far at the back. The front ones will be taken by another couple of families by the time you return to it. We found someone's food at our table when we returned. 3. Bring sandals for the changing areas. They don't clean the floors well. 4. Be ready to stand in line for the only two family changing rooms if you have small kids. They'll be cramped, dirty, and have cold showers. If you can, try to avoid them all together. 5. The staff here don't smile and they all seem pissed. Try to engage them in conversation and they'll be appreciative and let you know how crappy working here is. It made for some interesting conversation. 6. Apparently they're in the 1990s and want a printed piece of paper for online tickets. Bring it with you so they can have you sign it. I guess that's important for some reason. They sell out quickly too, so buy your tickets days before. We showed up the first day thinking we could purchase them there, but the girl at the counter told us to leave because it was sold out and caused my kids to cry. Can we purchase them here for tomorrow? "No. Go buy them online." You mean to tell me I can't buy tickets here for tomorrow? "No..." 7. There will be closed rides which lead to longer lines. There's an orange tube slide near the back left that has a strangely hidden entrance that doesn't get a line because of the crappy design of this park. Ride that several times because there won't be a line and it's a fun slide. 8. Things aren't really labelled when you get up to some slides. Some slides don't have labels, others that say four people are allowed (and the tube has four seats) the lifeguards will tell you only two can go at a time. I'm not sure what that was about but just ask around and you'll get better answers from guests instead of the non-existent staff. 9. The food is bad. You can't bring your own in, so you're forced to grab a cold burger off a shelf and pay $11 for it. My advice is... well... use a lot of condiments. 10. The fountain machines might be broken as well. Tell the staff and they won't fix it, they'll just let you grab a bottle from the fridge.
  • Very nice location in the Poconos Mountains. Not too far from shopping. Very nice and helpful staff. A great very large indoor water park. With a few swim up drink locations with lots of indoor outdoor hot tubs. Very nice dining locations.
