  • Mixed feelings. Not their fault, but we just don't get enough snow around here. They try hard, and I'm sure, spend a small fortune on grooming and machines, but if you want GOOD conditions, you need t...  read more »
  • Mount Southington is a great local mountain for the family. We like to go night skiing after work. It's small but better then powder ridge. Check it out
  • We were looking for a ski area that was good for beginners and intermediate skiers. This location had both. The view of the mountain from the lodge was nice to watch my kids from inside as i warmed up...  read more »
  • My impression of this place was good at first. One of the reasons I like it is Mt. Southington is with a 30 minute drive of my house and I can easily get to it after work for night skiing. The staff at the ticket office are super friendly and were nice enough to explain to me that I might get my moneys worth out of a $60 frequent skiiers discount pass rather than a $550 season pass. Luckily I explored the mountain before I chose. The great customer service seemed to continue as I got on the lift. As the chair was coming around the gentleman explained to me where the train park was and how to get to it. When I got off the lift I boarded to the terrain park. To my suprised that I wasn't allowed to enter without a helmet, and I wasn't told that by the lift operator who clearly saw I wasnt wearing one. This caused me to have to unstrap, walk an uphill traverse, and board down an easier slope. Upon getting to the same lift, the aforementioned lift operator asked, how was the park? I explained what happened and he said, "Yeah, you got to wear a helmet." I wasn't sure how to respond. Then he asked me to lower the safety bar on the chair, which I didn't have to the first time he saw me. This was so confusing to me. Later on, as one of the runs got congested, Ski rangers began regulating when skiiers could continue down the remainder of the run, MID RUN. Are you sure this isnt just creating congestion and a hazardous stopping/collision area? I've never seen any ski area operates the way this one does. I had also overheard that the ski shop will only tune skiis they have sold themselves. I'm not angry, nor do I regret my experience at this hill. I am glad I went, but this places takes itself far too seriously. Especially with safety. I am a 28 year old experienced rider, which I dont flaunt, but I should be able to make my own decisions on safety and the risks I am willing to take. Besides, the back of my ticket says I board at my own risk and waive any right to sue.
  • Was not there to ski. Had beautiful setting for an obstacle race. Be careful crossing the road from parking lot to facility.
  • TERRAIN PARK NEEDS LOVE! park crew puts in a lot of work! All the kids come out for the park it easily makes them a lot of money and they won't invest in new features!! THE KIDS WANT NEW RAILS!
  • The ski rangers need training on customer service. They simply (one or two in particular) don't realize who pays for them. Rather than helpfully guide/instruct, they choose to threaten. What could have been fun was unnecessarily ruined by a few who take the role of "in charge" to a whole new level. My family & I won't be returning despite how close it is.
  • Wasn't busy, some decent runs, would have turned the lights on a little bit earlier. Had a good time on some free lift tickets that my sister won.
