Dinosaur World, Plant City
(3.8/5 based on 420+ reviews on the web)
Featuring replicas of more than 200 life-size dinosaurs, Dinosaur World gives you the chance to walk among prehistoric predators. This outdoor museum covers 8 hectares (20 acres), with paved walkways guiding you through the natural habitats of various dinosaur species. In addition to the museum's self-guided tour, there are several staff-led, interactive experiences to round out your visit. Sift through materials looking for shark teeth, stingray barbs, and mosasaur teeth fossils. Embark on a tour led by a paleontologist through a cave, a dig site, and a workstation, and test your knowledge at the Triviasaurus Rex game show. The small museum inside the venue features three exhibits showcasing prehistoric fossils, fossils native to Florida, and motion-activated dinosaur models of Tyrannosaurus rex, stegosaurus, pterodactyl, and several others. • We paid $17 for adults and $11 for kids. Based on the value of the park, I would have been okay paying maybe $8 for an adult and maybe $5 for kid. The "exhibit" statues are old and not well taken care of. They do have informational spots for each animal statue but to pay what we did for the park, I would think there would be a little more care shown to the entire park in general. They had one attendant at the dig site with a long line of people. And it lasts for 30 minutes. I just don't understand what I exactly paid for. The only reason I gave 2 stars was because my daughters seemed to enjoy it in some sense. But I think it was because it was just something different. Not because of the exhibits. Won't go there again. Once was enough. Feel like I got ripped off.
  • Great for young kids, older kids may get a little bored. Gift shop ranges from 50 cents to $10k. Interesting tidbits to be had by all dinosaur enthusiasts.
  • This is a nice park for kids as they love dinosaurs. My daughter (2 yrs) was excited and scared to see dinosaurs. I wish they had some interactive shows to entertain kids. They just had one hand puppet kind of talk. We went on a hot roaring sunny day without knowing they don't have any rest areas insides. Though they are are shades everywhere, no AC except the gift shop at the entrance, so not a good destination for sunny day. There are so many insects and mosquitoes, so be prepared with your insect repellent. The ponds inside are not cleaned for long may be, they were stinky. Overall they have plenty of dinosaurs, which gives a real Jurassic park effect. But could be better. Definitely worth a visit
  • Our first time here, my toddler loved it. The extra pay features like the digging and gem washing are fun to do once or twice but probably or every time. While it's obviously like a zoo with out living creatures, the activities available are a nice occasional diversion to get the kids out of the house. The playground here is also quite large and open, where the dinosaurs act as an interesting backdrop to the play area. While not as huge as a zoo, it obviously doesn't need to be and for the attractions here it is quite large. For smaller kids and toddlers, this is worth coming a couple times a year. For older kids, maybe once or twice to see some of the stuff and do the activities is sufficient. Also a large gift store so if you need anything dinosaur, here's a good place to look
  • Better than expected! I looked at Google satellite view and thought it was tiny. I was pleasantly surprised. Bring your own food, there's picnic areas throughout. Wish I lived close by, I'd use it as a neighborhood playground.
