  • Whole town is a National Historic Site, 39th President of The United States of America's early life and political campaign were here. Dont miss peanut butter ice cream here.
  • This was a grea place to visit to lean more about our 39th President - Jimmy Carter. The old HS for Plains has been changed to resemble how it was when the President and First Lady Roselyn attended school there. Lots of memorabielia of the Carters live from birth to current period. We also visited the early home farm of Jimmy's parents Earl and Miss Lillian Carter. Lots of period pieces and interesting look into the life of the future President and his family and friends.
  • A step back in time visiting the boyhood and current home of President Jimmy Carter. He was my President, the first President I voted for. The site includes his school full of memorabilia and directions to his boyhood home and campaign depot. The NPS does a great job and everyone was so nice.
  • I've read all but three of President Carter's books, so stopping by the site en route home to Florida from my nephew's graduation from Ft. Benning was like standing on Holy Ground. Great signage -- I knew about the church, but not about the museum and town. What a grand serendipity! I was too young to know what was going on during his presidency, but I have loved "getting to know him" through his written work and so many good deeds around the world. All my prayers and thanksgiving for a Great American!
  • Interesting throwback to the late 1970's and examination of the 2nd worst President since 1976.
