  • Not enough shops. Not enough patrons. Nice facility, but empty. Only saving grace was close proximity to the incline.  more »
  • Station Square used to have many great shops but now it seems like a lot have closed. It’s still fun to walk around and there’s a lot of parking available. Hooligans and Melting Pot are still here. An...  more »
  • There are bunches of restaurants. The rate is on the internet is higher than I would say. I was expecting to have some shopping, but it was old and few stores.  more »

  • Great place to take a family. Has a great view of the cityscape of downtown Pittsburgh. If you are looking for a place with history of the city, this is your place. There are still some shops to see and buy things from. A great feature I really enjoyed was a artist who draws you or your family in cartoon style. There are some decent restaurants in the area that are reasonable. Afterwards, you can take a short walk down to the point or along the river to take in all the sights. Back in its prime, this was the spot to come and take your family! One great feature is that after walking around all the shops, you can take one of the cities greatest attractions, “The Incline”! Here it can take you up to the top of mount Washington and there you can see a magnificent view of the city! Walk down a few blocks and enjoy the different sightseeing platforms that are available every 5 blocks or so. In my opinion, it is best if you can take it all in and see the city both at night and during the day.
  • Easy to get to...pay to park on either end and pay at a kiosk. We were there 2-3 hours and it cost $6.00. Buca restaurants known for 1/2 pound meatballs and family style dining. Make sure you look around the restaurant as it has rooms and floors with areas to dine ie..in the kitchen they have a table where you can sit and eat amongst the hustle of the kitchen and it’s workers. Shopping mall with numerous stores and restaurants like Hard Rock Cafe. Very safe to walk around.
  • Two stars because the building is cool, Houlihans is decent, and the ice cream / fudge shop is good. Aside from that, it doesn't have much to offer. There are virtually no restaurants or shops left in the train station and the restaurants that are left are not very good. If you're looking the eating / shopping go somewhere else.
  • We went to brunch there on a Sunday morning . The food is excellent, and there is quite a variety of breakfast and lunch offerings. The freshly made donuts are delicious, the omelet is exceptional. Reservations are required.
  • has a lot to see, places to eat, hotel, easy walk across bridge to city, tons of parking. along the bike trail! wonderful home base if visiting the Burg and want to leave your vehicle.

Where to stay in Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh's downtown area is so packed with hotels it is often possible to get top rooms here at bargain prices. Bear in mind that most visitors to Pittsburgh want to stay in this central part of town, so you do need to look for discounts early and book well in advance. If you're visiting universities or other attractions outside of Pittsburgh itself, you can find comfortable airport accommodations just west of the city. Consider also the college neighborhood of Oakland, offering some of the least expensive rooms in Pittsburgh.
