Where to stay in Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh's downtown area is so packed with hotels it is often possible to get top rooms here at bargain prices. Bear in mind that most visitors to Pittsburgh want to stay in this central part of town, so you do need to look for discounts early and book well in advance. If you're visiting universities or other attractions outside of Pittsburgh itself, you can find comfortable airport accommodations just west of the city. Consider also the college neighborhood of Oakland, offering some of the least expensive rooms in Pittsburgh.

  • Not my first trip here, but it is my first review. Nice venue for a concert. The only thing I did not like is that I spent $23 for 5 drinks over at Little Red Corvette and $15 for two drinks here whil...  more »
  • This is a really small venue but a great place to see a show. They have plenty of bathrooms and good par service either along the fence or in the bar as you enter. There is no bad place to sit.  more »
  • I have been to this venue twice now. The first time the experience was pretty great, though it did take a bit of time to get in past security. There's not really a bad view in the place. They have goo...  more »

  • The venue itself gets 5 stars all day. There's really not a bad seat in the house for the concerts, the security did their job, but was still cool about it. There's indoor and outdoor bars, and a concession stand. However, the bartenders were shady. How is the same exact drink order 3 different prices? You're most likely padding your tip, but anyone with basic math skills can tell that the number that you came up with doesn't match the prices posted. Please don't insult my intelligence. If I bring my business back there, I'm calling your actions to attention to your management. The only person with a shred of integrity was the bartender outside. I wish I got her name, but I tipped her more for having the integrity to charge me correctly for what I ordered.
  • For a larger venue shows here are still really fun. The security guards aren't too over-zealous and the beer prices only mildly ridiculous. There aren't many bad seats in the house, the sound is good--just loud enough, and all in all worth going. I've only been there when it's an outside venue, though.
  • This is a great venue for seeing concerts all year round. They have an indoor and outdoor stage. And no matter what concert you see there's not a bad seat in the house. The staff is courteous and the drinks are good. The drinks are expensive but when's the last time you went to a concert that had cheap drinks?
  • A great indoor/outdoor venue that has made it reasonable for a lot of mid range acts come to town. It used to be that you had to sell out a stadium, or make due with a club sized stage. Plenty of parking and food restaurants nearby. They host a nice party before every Steelers game, and if the Pirates were ever any good, I am sure they would do something decent before baseball games.
  • Really cool-looking venue! The beer selection was great, and staff friendly. We wished for the Banks concert that the upstairs was made available. "VIP only" is what we were told, though we were willing to upgrade our tickets -- there was a TON of empty seats up there!
