Where to stay in Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh's downtown area is so packed with hotels it is often possible to get top rooms here at bargain prices. Bear in mind that most visitors to Pittsburgh want to stay in this central part of town, so you do need to look for discounts early and book well in advance. If you're visiting universities or other attractions outside of Pittsburgh itself, you can find comfortable airport accommodations just west of the city. Consider also the college neighborhood of Oakland, offering some of the least expensive rooms in Pittsburgh.

  • The park is open from sunrise to 11PM. The fountain does not start until about 7AM. If you are into photography, suggest going down before that time to catch some interesting photos of skyline reflect...  more »
  • Best place to get away in the city. My husband and I enjoyed the mist from the fountain, the breeze off the rivers, and people watching at sunset. It was the perfect spot to have a few moments alone a...  more »
  • Loved the mix of people & ages- and the natural landscaping mixed in with more structured areas. The views are stunning, & there's more around every curve to see!  more »

  • 4th of July Pittsburgh is beautiful! Lots to see, yummy food trucks (chicken on a stick is delicious) The fountain at the Point is gorgeous. Police presence made me feel safe. Lots of families having a nice night out. The fireworks were spectacular. Was not hard to to find close parking. ($20) Didn't take long to get out of town. Would definitely go again.
  • Very nice. Easily reached on foot. Includes the sites of British and French Fortifications from the French & Indian War era. Interpretive displays in the museum are very good (as are the bathrooms). Great view of the river traffic. Good views of downtown and North Shore, including the baseball and football stadiums. Good view of the Duquesne Incline. Quiet place, many shade trees and benches.
  • I love Point State Park! It's such a unique location that is so Pittsburgh-esque. It has phenomenal views, a really interesting museum, tons of walking and boating opportunities, and what else needs to be said about the Point?? Light Up Night is spectacular, and it features a lot of great events like the Arts Festival and the Regatta. It is truly a phenomenal location that is exceptionally unique.
  • This park has a great variety of activities and food selections to choose from. If you are interested in stunning views of the city. Great place for tourists and locals alike.
  • This park is amazing, so near the rivers and nature and everything, I love it. Also lots of shirtless homeless men. It's great. the police like to hassle the shirtless homeless men. But it doesn't seem to bother them. Whatever you like this park has something for you. Especially if you like shirtless homeless men.
