Tourist Spot Arena / Stadium
Featuring panoramic views of the city's rivers, bridges, and modern facilities, PNC Park is home to the Pittsburgh Pirates. Located on the northern side of the city, the baseball stadium features a natural grass field and can seat nearly 40,000 baseball fans. Tours of the stadium are offered seasonally. Get to the game by parking downtown and walking the short distance to the ballpark over a pedestrian-friendly bridge. Or, to avoid the stress of traffic and the high cost of parking, use the convenient water limo service, which begins operating about two hours before the start of each game. Check the online game and special event schedule, and book your tickets well in advance. Plan to see PNC Park and other attractions that appeal to you using our Pittsburgh itinerary planner.

Where to stay in Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh's downtown area is so packed with hotels it is often possible to get top rooms here at bargain prices. Bear in mind that most visitors to Pittsburgh want to stay in this central part of town, so you do need to look for discounts early and book well in advance. If you're visiting universities or other attractions outside of Pittsburgh itself, you can find comfortable airport accommodations just west of the city. Consider also the college neighborhood of Oakland, offering some of the least expensive rooms in Pittsburgh.

  • PNC Park is one of the best ballparks in America, and I can't think of a better way to spend a summer afternoon/evening. There are a lot of food options, but I usually eat before. The views are what make the park so famous (I usually sit on the third base line so that I get the full view of the city), the workers are really friendly, and it is a great mixture of modern baseball and retro, old fashioned baseball. It is truly one of the best ballparks in America.
  • Fantastic ballpark with a great view. Great area to walk around near the river outside the park as well. Parking is ample in the city and garages further away tend to be cheaper on weekends as well. Check out the First Avenue garage for a rather stress-free parking experience for a city. Overall, a great park in a fantastic location. Would highly recommend for any baseball fan.
  • PNC Park is always a marvel. I'm not a huge fan of baseball, but even I will go once or twice a year just for the atmosphere. There's something about eating over priced nachos and watching America's past time with your friends and happy strangers that makes it an experience all its own. I'll continue to go back, and I recommend everyone try to get to a game at some point. With food stands everywhere, an inviting atmosphere, and expert architecture that keeps the stands out of the sun come afternoon, PNC Park is a great experience in its own right.
  • I love this place! You will have a hard time finding any stadium as beautiful as PNC Park. This is a class act! The staff at this place is exceptional and will do whatever they can to accommodate you. The Pittsburgh Pirates are by far our favorite team in sports. Win or lose, we love the Pirates organization.
  • What a great ballpark! The comfort and views were great. The seats were comfortable and the fans were nice. Food was only so-so. Beer selection was decent. Concession lines weren't terrible.
