  • Not that far from downtown - well close enough to make it a definite day experience for all ages. It has definitely stepped up its game since I was there last - maybe 10-15 years ago. Back then they s...  more »

  • The zoo as a whole was GREAT! I do recommend more staff training. While in the refreshment line a customer was rude to the girl at the cash register. The employee was very indignant and loudly confronted the rude customer. When the customer had exited the line the employee continued to yell/ berate the customer. The line was full of families! Adults and children!! I was appalled the this employee continued to rant to each new customer that came through the line. This employee was young but there were other, more senior employees working and no one bothered to re-direct or remind her to be professional.
  • Baby Rhino born in April (2017), soooooooo cute! I love this zoo. Keepers are amazing, animals are very well cared for. In the winter, they take the penguins out for a march every Saturday and Sunday, as along as it's cold enough. The aquarium is awesome, with fun exhibits inside and the polar bears outside. They're putting in new marine exhibits where the sharks used to be. And be sure to check out the new sections at the top of the hill - the Islands (opened in 2016) and the Jungle, opening this year.
  • A zoo filled with animals and kids area to play in. Not enough places throughout the park to eat, eating area in one space. I have been to the zoo a few times and each time a few areas under construction and it is frustrating not to be able to see all the animals. More animal shows would be nice, we didn't get to see any when we were there for four hours. very nice that lunch boxes and drinks can be taken into the park, stroller and handicap assesible in all areas. Other than the bathrooms, park is well kept
  • Wonderful zoo and my favorite of all the ones that I have been to. I miss the shark tunnel though and haven't had the chance to return since they left but I know there is a new section open now plus an interactive dinosaur exhibit. I'm looking forward to going back soon! There is a lot of walking but they have a tram and also rentals of strollers, wagons, wheelchairs, and motorized scooters. Pricey food but good selection. Free parking and decent admission prices. Nice gift shops with great selection. Great place to spent a day with Family & friends. Lots of activities and events through the year too. Open everyday except Thanksgiving and Christmas I believe. Take your camera! Highly recommend!! : )
  • Nice afternoon visiting the animal exhibits. The aquarium is nice. Watching staff feed the fish was actually really interesting. Wear your best walking shoes. The price of admission is reasonable.
