  • Great selection of specialty items. Amazing selection of cheese! If you like cheese, this is your paradise. The staff are very friendly and helpful and willing to offer suggestions.
  • Supermarket that sells Italian products, it's the corner of salvation to those who just cant eat hot dogs and other American things. I was in Pittsburgh on business for a week and I have been shopping here every day!

  • This place is not to be missed when near the Strip in the Burgh. I always get several half pounds of meat and cheese to create a huge Sub in the hotel after the game. The variety and price of the Ital...  more »

  • Deep love. The most telling part of what I'd say is that I always go for just a few things and walk out with two bags full of delicious items. The men working behind the cheese and deli counters are so sweet, funny, engaging, and definitely love their jobs. Shopping here adds joy to what would otherwise be just an errand. I love the amazing assortment of spices, fresh nuts, fresh seeds, fresh breads, the (out of this world) biscotti, fresh produce, fresh pasta (!! you'll never go back to boxed !!) . . . I just cannot list all that I purchase here. It is the #1 best market in the entire Pittsburgh region. It may be one of my top 3 markets in the entire country. Run don't walk to shop here !
  • This place is pretty interesting and unique. The smell as you walk into the deli area overwhelming in a good way. They have a good variety of products.Bulk nuts and herbs and spices as well.
  • Italian foods, specialty sauces, fresh ground coffee, a deli counter that will make your mouth water. I cannot say enough good things about PennMac. Usually a little crowded on the weekends, but there's fresh dessert outside (for cash) that would make Wilford Brimley have to stop and take a look around. Crowded around the holidays, but if you're in town, make it a point to stop.
  • I love this place. One of the best cheese counters in the city. Great place to stock up on spices, olive oil, pasta, and Italian food imports.
  • PennMac offers a good variety of cheeses from all over the world at good prices. It gets crowded on Saturdays. The cheese mongers are knowledgeable and can guide you to new cheeses that you can try there. The store also offers a considerable array of Italian specialties.
