  • Had a beautiful afternoon walking the trails in Frick Park. Every other person had a dog, so we had fun watching them too! The sun was warm and the trails were well marked. Some were a little steep bu...  read more »

  • This is a wonderful, and enormous, green space for this city, rather like central Park in NYC. There is plenty to explore, or simply hike trails, or just sit in the shade.
  • Blue Side Playground at Frick Park is a fun place to take the kids to play. The paved walking trail is an easy path for strollers and bikes. The park is pet friendly, but I believe that dogs are supposed to be on leash on the trails and can go off leash in the fenced dog park area, which is a bit of a walk from the playground. If you have young kids that are apprehensive of dogs, it might not be the best trail for them, though the playground is conveniently located with street parking and quickly and easily accessible. The playground features play structures for the very young and for older children well.
  • This is a beautiful park. It is a wonderful place to walk and it is huge! Several play areas for kids and great trails for hiking. It is like a slice of Central Park in Pittsburgh.
  • A well maintained park with an on site museum with seasonal displays. The park is quite big and great if you want to get your walk on. Like most of Pittsburgh, it's very 3D, many trails go up and down on the paths creating small valleys and interesting terrain to see.
  • Gorgeous park, regardless of the season. My dogs have played in this park for years. I love walking the paths whether there's snow on the ground or whether I'm getting out of the summer sun and into the shadiness of the woods. One of my favorite places in the city.
  • Frick is an amazing park! I love walking my dog here. Most dog owners do not follow the leash rule though, so if you have a dog that's a little weird around other dogs be prepared for that.
