  • Between Pismo Beach & Margo Dodd Park is this family friendly park. Nice playground area for the kids. Lots of picnic tables & a stunning view of the coast
  • We visited this park on a trip to Pismo Beach. The ocean views from the cliffs are magnificent, there is a fun play area for the kids, walking/jogging paths for all. There is a board with some of the ...  more »

  • There is a really nice and clean little dog park area here. There are poop bags available and designated poop trashcans. Restrooms for humans are clean. This park is very well maintained and usually not too too crowded. Usually stop here with my dogs when we're on a road trip to Pismo. Also..amazing views for picture taking.
  • So Beautiful! Seals, pelicans and amazing photo opps. Sometimes gets overrun with folks - best visited on off season/off holiday times. Check the tides first or access may be limited.
  • Great location and view but not your typical kids park. No slides or regular swings but the dinosaur eggs are fun.
  • OK playground for kids...but you need to watch them & others to prevent a fall off the cliffs! Nice for a walk. During the summer they sometimes have arts & crafts festivals. Parking is usually not a problem. Does have restrooms. A good break from driving on the 101. As far as the photos here, some are for other nearby locations or totally off. Many are taken from the nearby "Inn on the Cove", or the "Hidden Cove" that I added (which is beach accessible only by either a fairly risky path from the Inn, or by boat. Part of it also lies under Dinosaur Caves Park, but it is not accessible via DCP. Other pics are from the nearby Margo Dodd Park & the Conservancy area. All are beautiful. Regardless of all these nearby areas there are no easy to access "Caves"...except possibly by Kayak. The "Cave" collapsed & the artificial Dinosaur was destroyed long ago. What remains is mostly a flat plateau that runs from Shell Beach Rd. to Cliffs with a step drop off. There is no beach access here, but there is past Margo Dodd Park....where their is a stair case. As far as the history of DCP, there is a sign posted that describes the strange history of this Parks name & creation. Greed, accidents, erosion, & community input all played a part in its history & likely still does. Anyway, there NEVER was any dinosaur fossils found here (it was a actual named after a fake headless partially completed dinosaur "statue" that burned down long ago) and there are NO safely accessible "caves", except by Kayak... and those would be shallow, at best. Regardless of the above, the views & playground are worth a stop. I am giving it only three stars, because the name is misleading to most people, who may stop to either see Caves or Fossils. Ironically, the only things that are related to Dinosaurs are small models of them & (enormous, not to scale) eggs in the kids playground. At least these ones have the heads on & the kids can play on them. The city does try to maintain a fair amount of native plants on the grounds & it is pleasant to walk the paths to various outlook areas, many with benches. Again, you & your kids need to be extremely careful not too stay too near the cliffs edge as the fall would mostly lightly result in a fatality. Be cautious & watch your kids! BTW- No photo is worth your life!
  • Not one damn real dinosaur. Couple of fake ones. Watch out for all the hippies and dogs. Luckily they take care of the poop by picking it up with the little plastic bags. You must see the Lookout Point it's beautiful. Art in the Park is also a great time.
