  • LOVED the time here at Pisgah Forest Gem Mine. We purchased the $60 bucket and it was completely worth it. I was unsure of purchasing it at first, but I was more than happy with what we got. We found a big amethyst and a beautiful geode, in addition to a wide variety of other gems. The staff was super friendly and great at explaining each gem. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend it!
  • This is a great stop along the way to or from Pisgah National Forest. Staff is super friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Everyone else around me was having as much fun as I was! Thanks for an awesome visit.
  • My boyfriend and I are from West Palm Beach, FL and were visiting good friends in Asheville. We were looking for an awesome experience, and we found it at this gem mine. We got the 7.5 gallon bucket, which was worth $60, but was only $55 with the coupon online that the girl there recommended. The bucket promised fossils, gemstones, minerals and geodes, and it lived up to every expectation! We found 2 Ziploc bags full of gemstones, and 3 large geodes! The staff was super friendly and helpful, they stayed around to help identify all of the stuff you found. It was definitely an experience I would repeat if I came to this area again! Definitely kid friendly, there were several families there with children ages maybe 5 and older, and definitely reasonably priced. Awesome experience!
  • This is one of the best gem mines I've been to. The ladies were very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Can't wait to go back.
  • Great time. Kids had a great time. Spend the extra money and get the bigger bucket. Worth it.
