  • We love waterfalls and hiking to see waterfalls. We were on our way to the Smoky Mountains to do just that. But we had heard about Pisgah National Forest. I did not really know what "National Forests"...  more »
  • Was very impressed with this waterfall. You can park right beside the steps and walk down to the waterfall. If you walk out on the rocks, the mist coming off the falls will lightly hit you. We went du...  more »
  • We were taking a quick weekend trip to the mountains to get away from the heat of the coast. We were not sure exactly what we were going to do, but drive through the countryside was planned. We found ...  more »

  • My wife and really enjoyed this stop. Initially, there was only a young family fishing in the frigid water before two young girls came and waded in the same frigid waters. To be young again. 😃 We went down the steps, took several pictures with each other and just enjoyed the tranquility of the moment. I could see where this would be packed later in the year when it warms up, but thankfully, we chose now to visit.
  • BEAUTIFUL! The water is very chilly but refreshing. The only thing not so refreshing is the people who flock to this easily accessible falls. Wish it was more off the beaten path so it could be more secluded and private. Parking can be impossible and if it's busy you will bump shoulders with 40+ people just walking to the falls.
  • As everyone else has said this is a great waterfall. Visible from the road and a short walk down some steps and your there. I recommend going early to beat the crowds especially in warm weather as this becomes a crowded swimming hole.
  • What an honor to be able to go right to a waterfall and get in the water. It's easy to get to. No hiking required!! Looking glass is right off the highway they have stairs that lead down to the water. The water is cold but it's so exciting to be there with the waterfall falling and the water spraying your face you dont notice rhe cold water for long lol It's a once in a lifetime experience! Bring water shoes!!
  • Wonderful waterfall, especially for those who may not be physically able to hike miles into the woods to see these amazing sites. My fiance has a bad knee, so this allows him to park and walk just a few yards to see the falls. If you are able, you can descend the stairs to get a closer view.
