  • No hiking necessary for this gem. Nice wooden stairway so you could go down to the river and even walk along the rocks down the stream a big. This was my favorite photo op our our trip.
  • This is literally right along the road. During the summer it is packed, and cars line the roadway, so parking is sometimes a challenge. Even with so many people, there are places to sit and contemplat...  more »
  • With a roadside pull off, an overlook and steps to the bottom, this is definitely a great place to stop and enjoy nature's power. The falls cascade to the river below. This is definitely an easy find ...  more »

  • It's pretty but not as pretty as some of the other area falls, and it's super crowded in the summer, particularly on weekends. Big perk is that it is roadside and easy access.
  • Looking Glass Falls is probably one of the best waterfalls in the Pisgah Forest. Its close to the entrance of the park so it isn't a super far drive and Sliding rock is right nearby. Its the perfect place to beat the heat with a quick dip in the fresh mountain water. Its also just stunning to sit on the rocks and enjoy if swimming isn't your thing.
  • Looking Glass gets a lot of attention because it's right off the main roads. It's a bit touristy. But, it's so pretty I still have to give it 4 stars.
  • Good access right off the road, just a short stairway down to the bottom. Its worth bringing swimsuits to swim right up to the falls or farther down the creek for a more relaxing dip. Its a must see in the area! Absolutely beautiful place!
