  • Great guys there i'm new to fly fishing and needed to know the laws and get a few beginner flies the workers gave me a pamphlet and help explain the laws and i was so lost by the amazing fly selection i didn't know what i needed but the guys helped me find what i needed to get started and fairly priced too
  • Helpful staff. Nice fly selection.
  • My husband and I have been camping at Davidson River Campground for years and have frequented the DRO shop more times than I can count. We stopped in for everything from just information to purchasing flies, t-shirts, unguided trips, boots, waders and guided trips. Cool group of knowledgable local people. Shop has a good selection of items given that it's not a big box store. Highly recommended, especially for a guided trip!
  • I was out in beautiful Brevard with my dog today. He needed a break and water so I stop at a well worn pull off by a state road bridge. Figured I'd wet a line. Granted, there was a no trespassing sign maybe 50 yards from the bridge but isn't it state property next to the road?. I'm literally there 15 minutes and leaving as a not so nice lady informs me that I'm not supposed to be there she has called the police and I need to stay put till they get there. So I stay. I asked the not so nice lady where can I fish without hurting anyone's feelings. She said "the forest". I explained to the not so nice lady that I was from out of town and I thought state roads had an easement within however many feet which is not private land at that point. The not so nice lady shook her lovely head " nope". Sheriff Dept shows up, the not so nice lady wants to press charges, I get ticketed. Turns out the not so nice lady is affiliated with Davidson River Outfitters! So... Now I get to miss a day of work, go to court, pay fine and court cost, be humiliated. Thanks DRO! Know this: the river doesn't belong to you or anyone else, you can actually talk to people without looking down your nose, im going to let everyone i can know what a fine business you run into the ground and I am extremely disappointed in visiting what was once a home to me. That will be the only two cents you will ever get from me!
  • Great fly fishing shop for a newbie on the Davidson River.
