Pine Mountain State Resort Park is a Kentucky state park located in Bell County, Kentucky, United States. The park opened in 1924 as Kentucky's first state park. Each spring, the park hosts the annual Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival, as it has since 1933.HistoryWhen Pine Mountain State Resort Park was established in 1926, it was named Cumberland State Park. But the name was changed in 1938 in order to avoid confusion with the newly formed Cumberland Falls State Resort Park. During the park's early years, there was little development. Then in 1933 the Civilian Conservation Corps began constructing the main office building, cabins, roads, bridges, shelters, and hiking trails. In 1960s, the Kentucky State Park System began updating their parks. For Pine Mountain State Park, they constructed a new wing to the lodge that contained 30 more guest rooms, 10 additional cottages, swimming pool, and golf course. Today, the park serves as one of southeastern Kentucky's premier state parks.Plan to visit Pine Mountain State Resort Park during your Pineville vacation using our convenient Pineville itinerary builder.

My wife (Ellen) of 30 + years and I recently stayed here as part of a package for the annual dulcimer weekend...... It was as expected with one BIG exception. The TV in our room didn't work..... When ... read more »
Lodge breakfast was very disappointing: overdone sausage patties, sawdust tasting pancakes, fatty undercooked bacon, disgusting biscuits and gravy. Stick to the waffles -- they are good and made fresh... read more »
Our room had a private balcony and view of mountains and forest. Breath taking. Room had comfy king size bed, mini fridge and soft water shower. Played mini golf.
This is my favorite Ky SRP. An amazing, well preserved CCC lodge and older cabins. The trails below the lodge into the rhododendrons is very special. Also the trails to the falls or Chain Rock. I really like the older cabins...but be ready to sleep with mice and bugs that come with the experience. The new lodge rooms and cabins are fine. And the dining hall with a view down the valley and the bird feeder...incredible ! go and enjoy
Pine Mountain is a wonderful place. It has beautiful scenery and some nice hikes, including to chain rock. There is a cove where my wife and I were married that is absolutely gorgeous as well.
The view from the restaurant was beautiful. I thought the food would be mediocre, but was sincerely impressed by its quality. The fried catfish was some of the best I've had! My group shared three desserts, and they were all delicious. The only aspect of the experience that was less than excellent was the speed of service. It took quite a while for our food to come out, and with four little kids at the table, that was not ideal. But overall, this is an excellent place to eat!
We did not stay at the resort, we were just checking it out. On the surface the facility looks nice, more than I expected.
Love this place!! And it's conveniently close to home. It's nice to take time out to go visit nature.
