  • I have been here once before which made me want to go again while I was in the area. I loved all of the exhibits and it was very educational. Looking forward to going again!  more »
  • We've been to all three of the NC Aquariums and Pine Knoll is our favorite. It's the largest though not huge. Great trails to see real wildlife - lots of crabs during the right time of year. Also a re...  more »
  • I love the sea and all it's creatures. There was a sea turtle in a tubular tank.. way too small. He kept repeatedly banging into the sides. This made me and my young girls very sad. Otherwise it was a...  more »
  • Been going here since I was a kid. I love the nature trail that they have added and they have a great playground for kids. (Bring bug spray). I suggest going early (if you are going on a rainy day like me) because it's full of families with their kids. The only thing that was disappointing is that they have moved Nimbus, the albino turtle, to Queen Anne's Revenge and there is no sign about the turtle anywhere on the exhibit. Nimbus is my favorite part of the aquarium and would love if they added a plaque with his photo as they do all the other sea life next to his exhibit. They have stuffed animals for the sea turtle so I would hope they would show off his exhibit more. They do great with the size they have with how much they have to look at. It's about a 2-2 1/2 hour trip. They have different shows every half hour that can add to the experience and length. It's definitely a good highlight of my trip.
  • Excellent. They have turtles, fish, otters, snakes, sharks Very clean and maintained environment A little pricey especially for kids. I wish places like this would have steeply reduced prices for kids to encourage adults to bring their kids and let them have the experience. The kids were a dollar or 2 less then adults. But the kiddos loved really it.
  • I have been bringing my kids to the aquarium since they were little and now, 19 years later they still enjoy coming here. Yesterday was a great visit, they reminisced about how when they were small enough to put their heads into the alligators mouth and how tiny Nimbus the turtle used to be. Thank you North Carolina Aquarium for all the wonderful memories, new and old.
  • Overall I enjoyed the trip out here. Many species to look at and a few to interact with. My biggest complaint was the lack of enrichment for the animals (namely otters) and size/stocking of the tanks and snake exhibit. Everything looked well maintained though.
  • Nice displays of aquatic. There was a lot of school groups there for field trips, but all in all a great place to take the family. Prices were very reasonable.
