  • Staunton State Park is great for its moderate trails. Hiking up to the Old Mill trail is worth it if you're into old building structures such as I am. Everyone I encountered was extremely friendly and one of the cleanest state parks I've ever been to.
  • Lots of good trails and variable scenery. Plenty of trees without so many that you can't see anything else. It gets crowded pretty quick on the weekends, and most people head out on the main trail. If there were more trailheads at the entrance, I would have given 5 stars.
  • What a beautiful hike! We went for about 13 miles and it wasn't to difficult for a larger guy. Go up to lions head, you won't regret it!
  • Staunton State Park is probably my favorite state park. It's rarely ever crowded - feels like a hidden gem! The trails are well maintained. Trails lengths and difficulty range, as does the scenery! Great place to spend a couple of hours or a whole day exploring.
  • Spectacular park, with a lot of great trails. It was busy, but everyone was friendly and respectful of each other. Hikers, Dogs, Mnt Bikers and Horse riders. There were also a good number of rangers out there to help, especially with busy parking lots.
