  • Stayed at the Crooked Lake Campground. Quiet, secluded, and very scenic with plenty of trails to hike or bike. Reasonably priced at $13 per night; easy to book and check in. Polite and helpful staff at the park HQ. They also have bundles of wood for $5, saving campers from having to search for local firewood. I will definitely be camping here again!
  • Very nice place to stay! This area is beautiful with woods and water. Close to town if you want a change of scenery.
  • I've been here for a trail race and for a lakeside picnic during which we also paddleboarded. The trails are beautiful and fun to run on (although there were some downed trees crossing the path). When I went in the summer the small beach area was teaming with people grilling, swimming, etc. But it didn't feel too crowded. The bathrooms are pretty nice for a park. There's also a concession stand.
  • Close enough to home for a weekend get away. It is always extremely well maintained. We having been going for years and never had an issue.
  • With very few options for hiking trails in South Eastern Michigan this is an amazing place to enjoy the outdoors. Camping, hiking, kayaking, hunting, fishing, swimming, off road mountain biking and horseback riding are just a few of the things we have had the chance to do here! If you love nature and being outdoors, Pinckney & Waterloo Recreation Areas has something for you! Our family's favorite place to spend our time!
