  • Been coming here for more than 10 years on an extremely frequent basis due to the close location. Just follow the rules and yer good. (Alcohol not publicly displayed, noise after hours, etc etc) The police doing their rounds don't harass you like I've seen in other Texas parks. It's nice to see they have body cameras now days. The park has clean facilities and is maintained pretty well. No trash along the lakeshore as you will find in Huntsville. It is best to arrive on Thursdays or early am Fridays to get the spot you like the most. My only reason for not putting 5 stars is that it needs to be less expensive for a weekend in the woods.
  • The beaches there are so fun to wade and play in, and nature of the park is absolutely beautiful. There are dozens of trails in the park where you can take a walk and enjoy the natural beauty of the wood that surround the bike trail. You can also find many animal feces so be prepared for any sludges you see on the sidewalk or beside. There is a fishing area at the park, which is a bonus, but be strong with your bait, 'cause it's probably going to be wrenched out of your line.
  • Just a short drive from Dallas and Fort Worth. Lake is awesome for fishing and swimming. Camping is safe, family friendly and clean! Bathrooms are VERY clean! Staff are wonderful! Nature and seclusion is perfect! My family vacations here multiple times a year. We all LOVE it!
  • Great state park. Nice and clean and wasnt crowded. Plenty of boat ramp and we all even caught fish. Definately recommend.
  • The park is very clean and well maintained. The paved hiking trail is so nice, with many beautiful views along the way!! The lake is sparkling blue, with a nice beach swimming area!!
